Luna’s Beauty Recommendations: Skincare!
I have wanted to make a beauty recommendations post for some time now and it’s Hangul Day so I have some time now ^^ Most of the products are Korean but some of them you can get Worldwide. It is possible that Simple is only available in the UK but I’m not sure. If you can’t get hold of some of these products but know a good alternative………. Make your own post ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
루나의 미용 제품 추천, 시~~작!!
1. Etude House “Wonder Pore”
I bought this because my boyfriend recommended it and his skin is like porcelain. This product really works and it lasts a crazy long time so it is absolutely worth 15000won. The 500ml bottle comes with the Wonder Pore Daily Cotton Pads but they’re the same as any other cotton pads so don’t waste money replacing them. If, like me, you have pores the size of moon craters, I highly recommend this product. It really helps to clear and shrink your pores. I’ve been using it for less than a month and I can already notice a difference.
2. Etude House “Hand Bouquet” Hand Cream
Not only does it smell really good, this hand cream is rich in vitamins and is absolutely perfect for my hands which become scaly and old-ladyish if I don’t moisturise them at least twice a day =_______= so I carry this around with me in my beauty bag. If your hands are dry, sensitive, tired-looking etc. this is a really good product. Again, you only need to use a little so it lasts a long time. It’s 4000won for the small bottle (the one I have) but the great thing about Etude is they have a lot of sales ㅋㅋ
3. Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel
I have very sensitive skin on my face and as such it has taken me a very long time to find a cleanser that my skin agrees with. Originally I was using Nivea, but I couldn’t afford to keep buying it so I switched to Simple and I’m glad I made that decision. Honestly I highly recommend all of their products for any skin type. This cleanser leaves my face feeling thouroughly cleansed but not tight and since I have been using it I hardly ever get spots (only during my period). Since you only need to use a little bit, it can last 2~4 months and it’s 2~4 pounds per bottle. Worth it.
4. Maybelline Baby Lips (I use HYDRATE)
Shelby actually bought this one but she made the mistake of letting me try it. Because it only costs 3 pounds and I get dry lips in the Winter, she gave it to me to bring to Korea. Although it’s a Western product, you still can get this in Korea in places like OliveYoung. I like it because I suffered dry lips forever while trying to find a product that absorbs well and doesn’t feel greasy on my lips. It’s this. It keeps my lips soft and hydrated so I use it in the morning and night; since the weather is getting colder now I carry it in my beauty bag but I’m not in any danger of running out. Highly recommended for those winter months when your lips start to crack!
5. Garnier Nutritionist Caffeine Eye Roll-on
I first recommended this to Shelby, who, suffering from a combination of naturally deep-set eyes and ALevel-induced sleep deprivation, has really bad dark circles. I recommended it and then I brought it to Korea. Sorry Shelby. I don’t know how much it costs because my mum gave it to me (warning: it doesn’t irritate my skin but it did for my mum. If irritation occurs, regift it ㅋㅋㅋㅋ) but I do know that it works really well. At first it appears to spread the dark circles which is why I use it in the night instead of the morning; by the morning I don’t have any dark circles. This isn’t a regular part of my skin routine but I use it if I have a late night. If you have natural dark circles which you don’t like, like Shelby dearest, then use this product. It’s quite old so perhaps this exact one won’t be easy to get hold of but there are plenty of newer products like it.
6. THEFACESHOP Avocado Body Moisture Lotion
I love this product. THEFACESHOP is a Korean brand and since I arrived I can’t get enough of their products. They’re a lot cheaper than Etude House and their products really work (but sometimes I just can’t stay out of that pretty pink shop with the SHINee posters ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ). I bought this lotion because I didn’t have any to bring with me and it turned out to be better than any of the products back home. Yes, better than BodyShop. You can stop screaming. I use this only ~three times a week and it keeps my skin baby soft and because of the natural ingredients it is nourishing too. Best used after showering. I can’t remember the exact price but it was less than 10000won and guess what — you only need a tiny bit so it lasts ages~!!
7. THEFACESHOP 0% Oil Chia Seed Water (right) & Chia Seed Lotion (left)
I’m not gonna lie, these come as freebies every time I buy something from THEFACESHOP and the first time I got one I had to ask my Asian friend back home what the hell it was, but since I started using it, my toner is sitting uselessly on the shelf.
The water: Basically you use it like toner but to save from drying out my skin I use it only on my problem areas. Chia seed is used for oil control so if you have oily skin I recommend this product. I use it morning and night after washing, by applying a tiny amount to my finger and brushing it over the areas which get oily.
The lotion: It’s pretty self explanatory. It’s lotion. It makes you soft. Apply it to the parts of your face that got smacked hardest by the Korean winter’s ice wind of doom.
I also have Chia seed moisturiser but I haven’t used it yet because I’m still waiting for Autumn………
8. THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Fresh Cleansing Wipes
You know when your face suddenly feels greasy in the day? I do. That’s why I carry these in my handbag always. Because they’re Chia seed, they remove the excess oil without leaving a tacky residue or making your skin feel tight. They’re also embossed which helps to remove any dirt trying to creep up in your pores and any skin that got killed off by the extraordinary weather conditions. Super recommended for all handbags/backpacks/briefcases etc~
If you’re not in Korea (aside from why the heck not) an alternative I recommend is Simple face wipes - I use them back home and they’re really good too.
9. THEFACESHOP Real Nature Mask Sheet
I can’t stop buying these. I can’t stress enough how good these face masks are; especially non-irritant if you have sensitive skin, made with natural ingredients and highly nourishing. There are loads of different ones and they all have different functions so find one that is right for your skin. I don’t like the fruit ones so much because they’re a little sticky but I absolutely swear by the mung bean ones. Try them. At 1000won each (or less in a sale ㅋㅋ) you can’t go wrong.
This concludes my skincare recommendations! I will probably have more when winter arrrives because my skin routine will change~~
If anyone wants to know more about how I keep my skin looking great from the inside out, message me~~

OKAY I HAVE A LOT OF MESSAGES
Guys, sorry for not replying! I only have my phone and no laptop at the moment so I don’t get message notifications - besides that I’ve been busy moving to Korea! If you’ll just wait a little bit, I will respond to all of your questions!
